Lorraine and Russ:
Please know that you’re in our thoughts and that we love you. Let us know if there is anything we can do. I was just thinking about the time that Bill and Lorraine took Russ and me out for our January birthdays at the General Lyon’s Inn. “GOOD TIMES”. I was also going down “Memory Lane” and remembering bumping into Bill and Lorraine in Mystic Village. Again,” FUN TIMES “. I’m sure there will be plenty of stories and good times to tell. Remember them and enjoy them. The good memories will help you get through these tough times. We love you.
Love,
Wayne, Andrew, Laura, Ryan and Linda

I am so sorry for your loss. Uncle Bill was very good to the family and will be greatly missed.
As children we always looked forward to his visits. It was great fun when we all piled into our car to go to Uncle Bill’s house.
I still can picture the house tucked into its hill, the front porch, the gardens in the back and of course, and all the antiques.

Aunt Lorraine,
May you find comfort in knowing that Uncle Bill was loved very much by his family out west. We have fond memories of Uncle Bill’s past visits to Washington, his cards that he sent, his generosity and with the short visits we had at your house with the both of you over the past years. I pray that God give you strength in the days ahead and find comfort knowing that Uncle Bill is in a better place. We will miss him very much!
Much Love to you and all the family, Wes & Beth Croteau

We used to own Fox Hunt Farms Gourmet & Cafe in South Woodstock in the 90’s. We will always remember the site of Bill pulling up to our store in his old pick-up truck with his trusty dog along for the ride. He always ordered soup and often brought us a bottle of his “homemade special!” We always looked forward to his visits, warm smile, and special humor. It’s been 13 years since we last saw him, but he was one of those unforgettable personalities…and we were happy to have shared a stretch of road with him.
With Sincere Sympathies from Bill’s “Fox Hunt Gals,”

Dear Aunt Lorraine and family,
Please accept our sympathies during this time of loss and sadness. I have such beautiful memories of time spent with Uncle Bill and you during that first meeting in 1992. I remember how I felt immediately at home because he reminded me so much of my Grandma Croteau, his sister Cecelia, who he loved very much. Today as I remember him, I am comforted by the memory of his contagious smile, his wonderful story-telling, his generous and giving spirit, his love of all things from the “good ol’ days”, and his simple and sincere love of the Lord.
May you find hope, comfort and peace in the Lord knowing Uncle Bill is with the Lord and having a sweet reunion with all those who’ve gone before.
Love you,
Christine, Phil and Voelker family

I am so glad that I was able to see Uncle Bill three weeks prior to his death. As usual, it was always about the past and remembering the “good ole days” when he was a young man on the farm with his parents and siblings. I can relate to that, because as we all get older, it is always about the times in our lives when life was good, and we haven’t had time to regret. I recall when most of the family was still alive and visiting my Grandmother, Elsie Sorel, on the farm in Woodstock. It was such a pleasure to sit and listen to the Uncles and Aunts talking about so many wonderful things that they had lived through. I could not wait for my next visit to listen again and make new memories for myself. Uncle Bill was a man who loved to talk and also had the ability to make things come alive. You could tell that my mother Celilia and Bill were related……they both loved to talk!!!! Bill will be missed in so many ways, that it is difficult to determine what will
trigger a memory. That certain laugh, a few bars of an old song, or a scent of something out in nature that reminds you of a loved one. My thoughts are with Aunt Lorraine and Russell at this time.
Remembering that we are here for such a short time, and during that period we collect memories and bind them together in our mind to remind us of how beautiful life really is, and it’s because we have had people like Bill and his family in our lives, that have taught us the love of family and the importance of being with each other, that our loss and grief seems not so bad. Yes, we will miss them, and remember them, but we will be better human beings as a result of them being in our lives for a short time.
We love you Aunt Lorraine and family:
Your Nephew,
Larry Croteau
