1950 – 2022
Thompson – William Pederson, 72, of Thompson, CT, passed away on October 9, 2022, at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. Born in Jamestown, New York, he was the son of the late Robert and Gloria (Swanson) Pederson.
Bill is survived by brothers, Robert R. Pederson and wife MaryLou, of Quinebaug, CT, Gregory A. Pederson and wife Pamela, of Beacon Falls, CT; and by sister, Jon (deceased) and Roselyn Eggleston, of Jamestown, NY; nieces and nephews: Lisa and Michael Gustafson, Matthew Pederson and Jasmin, Michael Pederson, Pamela and Karl Arnett, Rachel and Phillip Saunders; grand nephews and nieces: Zack and Dawson Gustafson, Connor Pederson, Ava and Kiera Pederson, Aiden Arnett, Gloria and Gabe Saunders.
Bill was very athletic and active. He played basketball while attending Tourtellotte Memorial High School (21-1:1968) and Assumption College (25-2:1972); he golfed nearly every day with his brother, Bob; and skied yearly in Colorado with close friends. Bill had talents and enjoyed playing his guitars and singing. He sang in the church choir and helped the Pastor with services at various assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. He was black belt in karate and part owner at a Japanese Karate Studio in Worcester.
He graduated from Assumption College with a BS-Mathematics and earned an MBA from Nichols College. Bill had a career as a cost accountant starting at Norton Company in Worcester, followed by employment at several other companies: Hubbell Engineering, a golf cart company, a paper company, and spent the last several years at Integra Life Sciences Company.
The family would like to extend sincere gratitude and thanks to all the deeply caring doctors, nurses and support staff at Brigham Women’s Hospital that cared for Bill during his final life journey.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life in Bill’s Honor at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the First Congregational Church of Dudley, 135 Center Rd, Dudley, MA 01571. The service will be broadcast on YouTube at First Congregational Church Dudley Ma.
