
Virginia Doucette
1929 – 2010
Putnam – Virginia M. Doucette, 81 formerly of Thompson died peacefully Saturday, May 22, 2010 with her family by her side at Regency Heights of Danielson after a very long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Doucette.
Born in Chelsea, MA, she was the daughter of the late William J. Curran and Blanche Chambers.
Mrs. Doucette worked as an assembler for the former Sanitary Dash Co. in N. Grosvenordale. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting and reading.
She is survived by three daughters, Carol Nadeau of Brooksfield, FL, Linda Manis and her husband Norman of Inverness, FL, Doreen Cote and her husband Doug of Putnam; a daughter in law, Cathy-Joy Doucette of Thompson; a sister, Blanche Doucette of Putnam; twelve grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Edward J. Doucette, Sr. who died in 2009. The family would like to thank the nurses, aids and staff at Regency Heights of Danielson for the care that Virginia received.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Virginia’s family from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, May 26, 2010 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St, Putnam, CT with a Funeral Service at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be private. Memorial Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 128 Providence St. Box 5, Worcester, MA 01604.
