1952 – 2020
Woodstock Valley – Thomas J. Gorham, 68, of Red Cedar Rd., passed away on Wednesday, November 11th at his home after battling a long illness. He was the loving husband of JoAnn (Lippiello) Gorham for 46 years. Born in Boston, MA, Mr. Gorham was the son of the late Thomas and Ellen (Bilodeau) Gorham.
Mr. Gorham retired in 2019 after working for 36 years as a sales manager for Killingly Building Products. In his time at KBP he traveled and met clients throughout southern New England. He joined the Bungay Fire Brigade in 1978, and he was named a Life Member in November of 1993. Tom served the brigade as a lieutenant, captain, and most recently as a deputy chief. He volunteered on the school board for Saint Mary School in Putnam. His pastimes included traveling, visits to Walt Disney World, and exploring new restaurants with his family. Tom was an avid fan of the UCONN women’s basketball team, and he held season tickets to the Connecticut Sun women’s basketball team. He was a devoted family man and especially doted on his granddaughter, Josephine.
In addition to his beloved wife, Tom is survived by his daughter, Victoria Ywarsky and her husband John of Brooklyn, CT; his sister, Roberta Nicholson of Auburn, MA; his granddaughter, Josephine Ywarsky; his father in law, Victor Lippiello; his niece Karen Mackintire; and his nephew Richard Nicholson, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Tom’s family from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 16, 2020 in the Gilman Funeral Home and Crematory, 104 Church St., Putnam. Due to Covid-19, the funeral mass will be private. Family and friends may attend a graveside service to be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Providence St., Putnam, CT at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 17th.
