Putnam – Theresa (Markoski) Masztal, 60, of Woodstock Avenue, died Thursday, September 27, 2007 in Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the loving wife of Gerald Menard. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of Mary (Platt) Markoski of New Britain and the late Sylvester Markoski.
Mrs. Masztal worked as a hairdresser, a machine operator for the former Acme Cotton, and most recently a returns processor for Staples.
Mrs. Masztal enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, photo-collecting, camping, and geneology.
Theresa is survived by her son, Mark Masztal of Brooklyn CT; her daughters, Mary Jane Masztal-Verrette and her husband, William Verrette of Putnam, and Melinda Jodoin and her husband, Christopher of Putnam; her brother, Thomas Markoski of Plainville; her sisters, Patricia Maddocks of Abbington, Nancy Markoski of Plainville, Margaret Tomala of Brooklyn, Katherine Dodd of Chino Hills CA, and Elizabeth Veseskis of LynnHaven FL; and her five grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Theresa’s family from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm, Monday, October 1, 2007 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am Tuesday in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St., Putnam. Burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Theresa’s name to the American Cancer Society, Franklin Commons, 106 Rte. 32, Franklin, CT 06254-1800.
