
PUTNAM- Theodore Francis Billings, 81 of Five Mile River Road died Monday June 5, 2006. He was the husband of the late Valerie “Lauris” (Tetreault) Billings and the companion of Stacia Dudek of Putnam. Born in Putnam, he was the son of the late Wilfred Billings Sr. and Ferdinanda (Briere) Billings. He lived most of his life in Putnam.
Mr. Billings worked as a grocery manager for the former Weiss’ Supermarket. He also worked as a self employed painter. He was a twenty year Army Veteran earning a Bronze Star for his service during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Albert J. Breault VFW Post 1523, the Mayotte-Viens American Legion Post 13 and the International Order of Foresters.
Besides his companion, he is survived by his daughter Debra Billings and her companion Bruce Tefft of Eastford; a sister, Palma Hemmingway of Putnam and a granddaughter Rebecca Stockwell of Putnam. He was the father of the late Theodore T. Billings and the brother of the late Rita Roireau, Lionel, Archie, Waldo, Wilfred, Skeeter and Joseph Billings.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 10am Monday June 12, 2006 in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Providence Street, Putnam. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Northeastern Connecticut, PO Box 632, Putnam, CT 06260. Gilman Funeral Home is entrusted with his arrangements.
