Thompson – Steven P. Wilber, Sr., 63, Hillside Ave., died Thursday, November 14, 2013 in UMASSMemorialCenter. He was the loving husband of Jean (Nolet) Wilber for 45 years. Born in Southbridge, MA, he was the son of the late Cortland and Theresa (Courcy) Wilber.
Mr. Wilber worked as an Equipment Operator for Webco. He enjoyed fishing, four wheeling, going to Maine, spending quality time with his grandchildren, and telling a good joke. Steven was an antique car restoration enthusiast and was an extremely talented “Mr. Fix It”, as well as an accomplished acoustic guitar player.
In addition to his wife, Steven is survived by his sons; Shawn M. Wilber and his wife Carmen of Vista, CA, Shannon M. Wilber and his wife Paula of Charlton, MA, Steven P. Wilber, Jr. and his wife Trisha of Thompson; daughter, Sheri M. Putnam and her husband Robert of Thompson; sister, Jeanne P. Wilber of Sterling; grandchildren, Brian, Matthew, Logan, Noah, Jolie, Cole, Sadie M., and Tessa M. He was predeceased by his brother, Cortland Wilber, Jr. and grandson, Colin Mark.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Steven’s family from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, November 18, 2013 in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale CT. A gathering will begin at 9:00 am on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Church, 18 Main St., N. Grosvenordale.
