Steven A. Doiron, 48, died unexpectedly Thursday December 29, 2005 on Block Island, RI.  He was the beloved husband of Kathy (Furlong) Doiron for 21 years.  Their love for each other began 27 years ago through a mutual friend Russell Boulet.  He was the son of the late Andrew and Bernice (Marchesseault) Doiron and spent his childhood in Danielson.

Steve graduated from Putnam Catholic Academy. He played guitar in the Peace Club and was a member of the basketball team.  Steve attended Thames Valley Community College before his employment at Danielson Curtain Company in Attawaugan. He began his professional career with Rogers Corporation as a Lab Technician in 1977. Throughout his career Steve held several positions before becoming a New Product Development Leader.

Shortly before his untimely death, Steve graduated from  Eastern Connecticut State University with his B.S. in Business Management. He was a member of the Delta Mu Delta Honor Society.  Steve, a self-taught guitarist, used his talents as a member of the St. James Church Folk Group from 1972-1973.  He also played withthe Folk Group at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Storrs.  Steve loved  music, photography, a good summer thunderstorm, camping with his family and traveling internationally.  He enjoyed spending time in the White Mountains and on Block Island. Besides his wife, he leaves two loving children, Andrew D. Doiron and Jamie L. Doiron both at home; two brothers, David L. Doiron of Mansfield Center, CT and James L. Doiron of Greenville, NH; two nephews, John and Tom Doiron and THREE nieces, Christine and Katrina Doiron, and Santina Savoie.  He was predeceased by his brother,Dennis Doiron. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:30 am in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St. Putnam with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Sacred Heart Church, 47 West Thompson Rd, Thompson.  Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dayville.  Visiting Hours are Tuesday from 5-8pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Doiron Children Education Fund, c/o Putnam Savings Bank, 40 Main St, Putnam, CT 06260.
