Woodstock, CT – Stephanie “Stephie” Szafarowicz, 53, of Brickyard Rd., died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She is the loving wife of Michael Szafarowicz. Born in Worcester, MA, she is the daughter of Stephen J. Nedoroscik of Douglas, MA and the late Jane (Chojnacki) Nedoroscik.
Mrs. Szafarowicz was a 1978 graduate of St.MaryHigh School in Worcester. She worked as a manager at Ocean State Job Lot in Sturbridge.
Mrs. Szafarowicz enjoyed gardening, cooking, and baking. But, above all she cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her nine grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and father, Stephie is survived by her son, David Szafarowicz of Auburn, MA; a daughter Kathryn Shead and her husband Benjamin of Thompson; a brother John Nedoroscik of Worcester, MA; her sisters Jane Gervais of Worcester,MA, and Catherine Iwanoh of Oxford, MA; her grandchildren, Joshua, Isabelle, Zachary, Raya, Teagan, Samuel, Austin, Damion, and Allysha; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased her sister Christine Buckley.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Stephie’s family from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., on Saturday May 25, 2013 in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, 130 Old Turnpike Rd., Quinebaug, CT. There is not a day that goes by that I do not think of you. I miss you deeply. I know you are at peace and are with your loving family but I am sad that you were taken from us.
