Sr. Pauline Huot, 84, a member of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit died on Monday, March 2, 2009 at Day Kimball Hospital, Putnam, CT. She had been in residence at Holy Spirit Provincial House since 2003.
Sr. Pauline was born in Biddeford, Maine, the daughter of the late Denis and Alma (Larose) Huot. She entered religious life in 1940 and made her religious profession at the Provincial House in Putnam, CT on August 20, 1945. She was then known as Sr. Rose Alma. She received a B.A. from Diocesan Sisters’ College, Putnam, CT and a Master of Education from Boston College, Boston, MA.
Most of Sr. Pauline’s career was spent in teaching the primary grades from 1945–1977. In 1978 she worked as Assistant Director of Communications for the Archdiocese of Hartford until 1981 when she went to work as a clerk for the State of Connecticut , retiring in 1993.
Survivors include two sisters, Theresa McCluskey of West Hartford and Anne Marie Sykes of Rockland, ME and several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Calling hours at the Provincial House chapel will be on Thursday, March 5 from 5-8 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:15. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in the Provincial House chapel on Friday, March 6 at 11 AM followed by burial at St. Mary Cemetery, Putnam, CT.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Daughters of the Holy Spirit Retirement Fund, 72 Church St., Putnam, CT. Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam, Ct is in charge of arrangements.

May peace be yours as you join your sister Bernadette and Aunt Alma in the peace of Christ our Lord and Savior. I will never forget your love and kindness. You have made a lasting impression that I try daily to use that example of love of God to my children. Your lessons of love extend far and wide.
