I was a fellow faculty member at Mercy High Scholl and a neighbor when she lived in Middletown. We enjoyed many conversations about our families. She was so very proud of both Jeff and Aimee. When stories of grandchildren came up she happily shared her grandniece and grandnephew adventures. My husband, Tom and I send our deepest sympathy and prayers to her family and her DHS community.

Sr. Marian was one of my favorite teachers at Mercy. I loved her. She was tough but so kind. I never enjoyed history but she made the whole class interested. I remember learning about Mark Anthony and Cleopatra and the way she taught it made the class feel like we were watching a soap opera. She challenged us because she believed in our potential. I was sad to see her leave mercy. She will always be in my heart and I am keeping her friends and family in my prayers.

I never had Sr. Marian as a teacher but got to know her a bit as a student and then a bit more when I was teaching at Mercy. I loved her matter of fact attitude and her super sense of humor. Her smile could always touch my heart. Rest in peace Sister.

I taught with Sr. Marian at South Catholic & one of our former alums alerted me tonight. It’s been a tough year & I’m sorry to hear this news. I’d like to wish the family, her sisters, & her Godspeed. For they that wait for the Lord shall renew their strength & lift up like wings as eagles.

So sorry to hear this, condolences to her family. My daughter had two History classes with her at Mercy and, among many other things, she learned about An Gorta Mor – Ireland’s Great Hunger, in Sr. Marian’s class. It inspired her to visit the Irish Famine Museum at Quinnipiac University and later, the famine museum at Strokestown Park in Ireland as a college student. She remembered the lessons, and thought of Sr. Marian. We are both grateful she had such a dedicated teacher. She will be remembered.
