
Putnam, CT – Sr. Lucille Dénommé, 75, a member of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit, died on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at the Holy Spirit Provincial House, 72 Church St., Putnam, CT. 06260.
Born in Fitchburg, MA on January 7, 1934, the daughter of George and Sara (Richard) Dénommé, she entered religious life in 1953 and made profession on April 13, 1955 at Holy Spirit Provincial House in Putnam, CT. She was then known as Sr. George Edward.
Her teaching career spanned the years of 1957 through 1974 following which she was named Registrar at Annhurst College and in 1980; she served as assistant to the Dean of Students at The Elms College in Chicopee, MA. In 1993, she was named Provincial Secretary until the end of her term in 2002 after which she stayed on as Assistant to the Provincial Secretary.
She is survived by a brother, Robert, a retired University of Virginia French Professor of Charlottesville, VA and predeceased by two brothers, Msgr. George Dénommé, a priest of the diocese of Worcester, MA and Richard, a religious brother of the Missionaries of LaSalette.
Calling hours at Holy Spirit Provincial House will be on Monday, August 17, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:15 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Holy Spirit Provincial House followed by burial at St. Mary Cemetery in Putnam. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the DHS Retirement Fund, 72 Church St., Putnam, CT. Gilman Funeral Home 104 Church St., Putnam, CT is entrusted with her arrangements.

Sr. Lucille had a wonderful sense of humor and sense of family. She was a great gift to her colleagues at the Elms College.
