1944 – 2021
Danielson – Shirley T. (Theriaque) Lajoie, 77, of Chestnut St., died Tuesday morning, November 30, 2021, at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Ward Lajoie. Born in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Dora (Auclair) Theriaque.
Mrs. Lajoie worked in the textile industry for many years as a machine operator at Anglican Fabric and Acme Cotton. She enjoyed playing BINGO and was a former member along with her late husband of the Country Cruisers Motorcycle Club. But, above all she cherished the quality time that she spent with her family especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Shirley survived by her children, Robert Rush and his wife Nina of Brooklyn, Bruce Rush of Putnam, Mark Lajoie and his wife Robin of Putnam, Tammy Lajoie of Danielson, and Rhonda Lajoie of Danielson; her sister, Irene Flores of Hartford; and many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Debra Lajoie; her brothers, Richard Theriaque, Henry Theriaque, and Edward Theriaque; her sister, Lillian Theriaque, and two grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Shirley’s family on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Gilman Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Church St., Putnam, CT 06260 with a service in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m..
