1962 – 2021

Woodstock – Scott E. Donohue, 58, died May 27, 2021, in Hartford Hospital after battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Julie (Rybacki) Donohue. Born in Bloomfield, New Jersey, he was the son of the late William and Mary Jane (Gross) Donohue.

Scott worked in the wind and aeronautics industry for many years.  He also proudly served in the US Navy for 22 years, earning the rank of Chief.

Scott enjoyed going to blues concerts, gambling, and gardening.  Always up for a lively conversation, Scott could debate anyone about anything. Scott also loved his “fur babies”, who will miss him greatly. Scott’s most cherished moments were when he spent time with his family and friends.

Scott is survived by his son, Ian Donohue and his companion Sara of Licking, MO; his daughter, Samantha Donohue of Norwich, CT, his stepdaughters, Stephanie Thorstenson and her companion Dan of Putnam, CT and Elizabeth Valade and her husband Anthony of Putnam, CT; brother, Thomas Donohue and his wife Diane of Hackettstown, NJ; his two grandsons, Tesla Donohue and Rune Donohue.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Scott’s family from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Thursday, June 3, 2021 in the Gilman Funeral Home and Crematory, 104 Church St., Putnam, CT with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m.in the funeral home.
