1955 – 2022
North Grosvenordale – Sandra (Durand) Cassidy, 67, of North Grosvenordale, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. Sandra is the beautiful wife to her husband, Wayde Cassidy, whom she married in September 2021. Born in Putnam, CT, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Anna (Blanchette)Durand.
Sandra enjoyed sitting outside with the radio loud & a big fire pit burning. She relished dancing, singing, and laughing with the ones she loved. Her two great grandchildren kept her on her toes; Elizabeth often applied her makeup and Andrew Jr. danced all over the house with her. She was one of the strongest people you’d ever meet. Sandra was often told she was “stronger than Wonder Woman,” for the battle she fought right until the end. She will always be loved deeply and missed sorely. Prior to her death, a Celebration of Life was held at her home as she wanted to be there for it. Sandra wanted a celebration to bring happiness and peace.
Sandra is survived by brothers, Ronald Durand and Richard Durand; sisters, Connie Durand, Susan Durand; daughters, Rebecca Rainey and Andrea Johnson; grandsons, Devin Favale and Damon Favale; granddaughter, Julia Adamec; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Bowen; great-grandson, Andrew Bowen, Jr.; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sandra will be met in heaven by sisters, Jeanne Gendreau, and Katherine Gunderson and brothers, Rene Durand, Dennis Durand, and Robert A. Durand.
The family would like to extend a grateful thanks to Day Kimball Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Candice Zamagni, and the nursing staff at St. Vincent Cancer and Wellness Center.
Memorial donations in Sandra’s name made be made to Day Kimball Hospice and Palliative Care online at www.daykimball.org/donate or to St. Vincent Cancer and Wellness Center at 1 Eaton Place, Worcester, MA 01608. For memorial guestbook visit www.GilmanAndValade.com.
