Robin M. Smith of Dayville, CT passed away on April 1, 2021. Robin was born in Chicago, IL on November 19, 1960 to Kenneth M. Reynolds and the late Maureen (McFarland) Reynolds and later moved to North Kingstown, RI. She graduated from North Kingstown High School in 1978 and attended the University of Rhode Island.

Robin is survived by her father and step-mother, Kenneth M. and Anne M. Reynolds, of North Providence, RI and her devoted partner, Davey Berube of Dayville, CT. She also leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Daniel Corning, of Beverly, MA and her son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Madilyn Smith, of Dayville, CT. She is also survived by her brother, Gary Reynolds, and his wife Debra, of San Jose, CA; her sister, Kristen Whittier and two nieces Lauren and Jordan Whittier of Tallahassee, FL; her aunt, Denise Osowick, of Nevada City, CA; and her granddaughters, Emily Lynn Corning and Eleanor Rose Smith, who were the love of her life.

Robin’s life was devoted to caring for others, starting with caring for children through her daycare business known as Robin’s Nest and later becoming a licensed CNA and transitioning to eldercare through her business known as A Helping Hand. She had a flair for decorating and loved flowers, which meant her yard was always filled with beautiful flower gardens. Robin would often say her proudest accomplishment was raising her two children, Jessica and Bryan, and the joy that filled the end of her life was spending time with her granddaughters, Emily and Eleanor.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Robin’s life and visit with her family at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 9, 2021 in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St., Putnam, CT followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Providence St. in Putnam, CT.

In an effort to give back, even after her passing, Robin’s wish was that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. For memorial guestbook visit www.GilmanandValade.com.

It is hard to remember a time in my life when I didn’t know Robin. Jess and Bryan, your childhood home was one that I always felt welcomed in and of which I have countless memories. Over the years, it has been so beautiful to share life’s special moments with Robin, including Jess’s bridal shower, wedding, baby shower, and holidays. She always welcomed both of us with open arms and absolute warmth.

Erik and I both extend our deepest sympathies and offer love and strength during this impossible time. Robin’s legacy will live on through her beautiful children and grandchildren.
