1943 ~ 2020
Robert J. Mooney, Sr., of Putnam, Connecticut, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 15, 2020. He was born in Putnam, CT on November 23, 1943. He was a graduate of Harvard H. Ellis Tech and was a lifelong craftsman.
Bob was married to Cecile (Fall) for 57 years and together raised three children and enjoyed the company of their 8 grandchildren.
He retired in 2006 after working for the Town of Putnam for 20 years at the Putnam Public Works Department. Throughout his life he was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. He taught his children and grandchildren to enjoy and respect nature. He was a member at the Snake Meadow Club, a former member and president of the Irish American Club and a Little League Baseball coach. Bob was known for his dry sense of humor, wit and unforgettable phrases (Pepisms) that will forever be missed.
Bob is survived by his wife, Cecile; his daughter, Judith Roderick, her husband Charles, his two sons Robert, Jr., wife Paula, Michael and fiancé, Pamela; a sister, Lillian Rondeau and a brother, George; 8 grandchildren; Chelsea, Erica, Matthew, Nathan, Jonathan, Evan, Jillian and Jerry. Those who proceeded him in death were his brother, Thomas and sister, Kathleen Snow. Bob/Pep will be missed dearly.
