North Grosvenordale – Robert E. Rickaby, Jr., 61, of Riverside Dr., died Thursday morning, January 13, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Michelle (Montigny) Rickaby. Born in Columbus, Georgia, he was the son of Elaine Faye (Foux) Rickaby of Killingly and the late Robert E. Rickaby, Sr.
Bob was the manager for JK Autobody out of Webster Massachusetts for several years prior to opening up his own auto repair business in 2003. Bob thought of the owners of JK John & Maria as his own family as they did of him.
Mr. Rickaby also worked for many years as an auto appraiser.
Bob was a five-time past commander of the American Legion Post 67 in N. Grosvenordale. He enjoyed doing auto body work and tinkering with anything with a motor.
He is survived by his wife; his children, Mark Rickaby of Putnam, April Rickaby, and her longtime companion Thomas Kane of Norwich, and Kylene Rickaby and her fiancé Donald Pierce of Thompson. His siblings, Tom Rickaby and his wife Joyce of N. Brookfield, MA, Joseph Rickaby and his wife Tina of Thompson, Susan Mayo and her husband Chucky of Macon, GA, and Becky Gerrish and her husband Randy of Killingly; and his grandchildren, Jahala, Gavin, Ian, Kadin, Wyatt, and Makaya; and his Father-in law Robert Montigny and brother-n-law Wayne Montigny. He was predeceased by his sister, Amanda Langlois.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Robert’s family from 2:00PM to 5:00PM on Friday, January 21, 2022, in the Valade Funeral Home and Crematory, 23 Main St., N.
