The world has lost another Giver. In a world of Takers Rene Toutant was a Giver and proved it to all that knew him every day! Rene was a friend that understood what a friend is. He loved life , he loved his family, he loved his friends and he Loved his country. To gather with a group of friends with Rene and his wife Janice was something I always looked forward to. We laughed, told stories of the old days including the Hot Sparks Car Club, cruising Sap’s Dairy Bar and life in Putnam in the fifties and sixties a time we all greed, is lost to the young.
I could go on and on about all the memories I have of Rene Toutant. But being a Giver will always stand out in my heart. Rest my friend, I won’t forget you. Cowboy Bill.

Dear Janice, Rene, Craig and families,
Wayne and I are shocked and saddened to hear of Rene’s passing. We always had so much fun when we were in your company. Whether it was on a bus trip to Atlantic City, dining out, or just visiting with you two. Just last week we were at your house and Wayne decided to stay in the car while I ran in to visit with you. Rene said I am going to talk to Wayne. Of course when we went outside, we couldn’t find him! Well there he was sitting in the back seat of my car with a smile on his face. He was small but mighty! Rene will be missed. May God watch over him.
In sadness, and love, Wayne and Linda

Janice and family,
We were so saddened to learn about Rene. Many years have passed since our paths crossed but Paul always spoke so highly of your husband and dad a very talented man when it came to automotive. Paul was telling me that Rene recommend a certain color paint for Paul’s first car ,an Austin Healy.. it was absolutely the most perfect color!! I personally didn’t know him but as I read the messages of condolence he truly left his mark in the lives of many. You remain in our thoughts and prayers.
