Zannini, Philbert web PicPutnam – Philbert E. Zannini, 66, of Fairmount Street, died Thursday, October 26, 2006, in Worcester. He was the husband of Anita T. (Hade) Zannini and had been married for 47 years.  Born in Burrillville, RI, he was the son of the late Philbert J. & Lorretta (Cheput) Zannini.

Mr. Zannini was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in Korea. He was a member of the Irish-American Club, the Elks, and of the V.F.W, all in Putnam.  He was a machinist, having worked 18 years at Loos & Company in Pomfret.  He has previously been the plant manager at Hale Manufacturing for 25 years.  In addition, he worked at Arvidson Apple Farm in Woodstock from 1954 to 2002, and also worked for A-1 Septic.  He was known as the Cookie Man of Woodstock.  He enjoyed playing cribbage, cards, Catch 5 and pool.

In addition to his wife, he leaves four sons, James P. Zannini of Las Vegas, Bob Zannini of Putnam, David R. Zannini of Fort Gordon, GA, and Daniel P. Zannini of Putnam; two daughters, Judy L. Robidas and her husband Bob of Round Rock, TX, and Donna L. Zannini of Brooklyn, CT; one brother, Arthur Zannini of Apopka, Fl.; an aunt, Pearl McPheee of Apopka, FL, and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Kuszewski of Thompson; eight grandchildren, one great-grandson, many nieces and nephews; and his two beloved dogs, Bear and Rasco.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Philbert’s family on Monday, October 30, 2006, from 5:00-8:00 pm. in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church Street, Putnam.A gathering will begin at 9am Tuesday at the funeral home with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am in Saint Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Webster.
