1925 –2011
Putnam, CT – Pauline M. Goulet, age 86, loving wife of the late Joseph A. Goulet, passed away on January 31, 2011. She was a resident at Westview Health Care Center. She leaves two sons; Greg of Nashua, NH, and Wayne of Melbourne, FL, three grand children; Todd of Cambridge, MA, Tracy Aubin of Vernon, CT, and Tim of Las Vegas, NV; and two great grandchildren, Hunter and Isabella of Las Vegas, NV.
Pauline was born in Putnam on January 11, 1925, daughter of Armand and Marie (Girard) Chapdelaine. She graduated from Putnam High School in 1944. Pauline was a life long resident of Putnam and dedicated her life raising her two sons. She married Joseph Goulet her high school sweetheart, on July 8, 1944. Joseph enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in San Diego California. After the war, Joe and Pauline resumed their lives in Putnam. In the early 1950’s, Pauline assisted Anita Young at the Putnam Nursery School on Grove Street for several years. The early to middle years of her married life were spent raising her two boys and working with her husband in the office doing billing and bookkeeping for their business Goulet’s Express. During this period, Pauline also stayed involved with Putnam’s youth by teaching CYO classes at St Mary’s Church. When she was in her early fifties, Pauline decided to get her real estate license through courses offered at the Community College. She also went on to obtain her brokerage license. Pauline practiced real estate with several local agencies and finally found her place at Pine Knoll. During these years, Goulet’s Express was sold and soon Joe teamed up with Pauline selling real estate. Pauline met and interacted in the lives of many Putnam residents. She was loved by her family and will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.
A Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church of the Visitation will be announced in the spring. Gilman Funeral Home is entrusted with her arrangements. For memorial guestbook visit www.GilmanAndValade.com.

Please know how sad we are to hear of Pauline’s passing. We are long time Putnam Rotarians and remember your mom and dad from the club. Pauline came to most of the Rotary events with Joe and she always had a happy smile for everyone. We will keep you in our thougths and prayers. With Sympathy, Karen and Gary Osbrey
