1943-2021
Eastford – Paul M. Boudreau, 77, of Old Colony Rd, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of 50 years to Monica (Hutton) Boudreau. Born in Putnam, he was the son of the late Lionel E. Boudreau and Anna (Glass) Newth.
Mr. Boudreau worked as a nuclear test technician for General Dynamics Electric Boat Division for 43 years and still stayed in touch with his work buddies at a monthly breakfast together. He was a member of the Putnam Fish and Game Club, loved target shooting, and was an avid New England Patriots fan. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, mornings with Mike Gehrig in his barn, playing cribbage, working on his house and taking care of it, and getting together with his old work friends. In his youth he was involved with the Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts. In his 20’s his hobbies turned to cars and music. Paul was loyal to family and friends and was faithful in supporting local businesses. He was one of seven children who call themselves the “MAG-7”. For 54 years, he lived a life of love and devotion with his wife, Monica, and for 47 of those years he was an amazing father to his beloved daughters Amy and Rachael.
In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his daughter, Rachael Mills and her husband Patrick of Eastford; his close friend, Mike Gehrig; his siblings and members of the MAG-7; Pat Faucher of Dayville, Susan Fisher and her husband Edwin of Willimantic, David Boudreau and his wife Irene of Putnam, Ellen Bileau and her husband Harvey of Thompson, Karen Bomster and her husband Wallace of Putnam, and Mark Boudreau and his wife Patricia of Tariffville, CT; his grandchildren, Michael Mard and Elizabeth Mard; and his first great-grandchild, Matteo, “on the way”, and many others who considered him father and grandfather. Paul was predeceased by his daughter, the late Amy L. Boudreau who passed away on July 2, 1993.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Paul’s family from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 27, 2021 in the Gilman Funeral Home and Crematory, 104 Church St., Putnam, CT 06260. A Memorial Service for Paul will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Living Faith United Methodist Church, 53 Grove St, Putnam, CT. Burial will be private.

Monica, Jeannine Spink here. You may not remember me, I was in Eastford’s GriefShare last year. I attended because my husband Gordon Spink, Sr. died suddenly on 4/7/2020, and you and the rest were so wonderful and caring during those classes. I will forever be thankful for your caring. I only wish I could give back to you.
