Thompson – Paul C. Cournoyer, 78 of Quaddick Town Farm Road, formerly of Wrightson Drive, died Tuesday, November 25, 2008 He was the loving husband of the late Irene (Sterczala) Cournoyer for 49 years. Born in Webster, Ma, he was the son of the late Ovide and Leah (Robidoux) Cournoyer.
Mr. Cournoyer worked as an estimator for Wyman Gordon for 35 years retiring in 1991. He was a Korean Navy Veteran serving in the construction battalion. He enjoyed boating, ice fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Cournoyer is survived by his daughter, Michelle Hooper and her husband Dwayne of Thompson; two sons, Paul Cournoyer and his wife Lisa of Putnam, and Chester Sterczala and his wife Mona of Oxford MA; his brother, Bernard Cournoyer of Webster, Ma; his two sisters, Rita Wheeler of Oxford and Theresa Gregoire and her husband Greg of Dudley; and his beloved grandchildren, Cameron Hooper, Jon-Luc Cournoyer, Garrett Hooper and Sydney Cournoyer.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Paul’s family at 9:00 am Friday, November 28, 2008 in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale CT followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Joseph Church, 20 Main St., N. Grosvenordale. Burial to follow in St. Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery, Webster MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
