I have known the Jacobsens since I was 4 in kindergarten. So it’s been a long time-over 45 years. Paul (Mr. Jacobsen is what I was used to calling him) was a kind, generous and thoughtful man who loved his family very much. I know he was very devoted to his church. I remember him coaching me and his son- my great friend Steve, when we were in the baseball Farm League. I think we were maybe 8 or 9 years old.
I learned some life lessons from Paul. Let’s just say he had lots of advice when me and Steve were teenagers.
I am so glad I went to visit Steve several weeks ago at the lake. I got to see Paul for the last time. We spoke briefly. And as he usually did, he made a wise-guy comment to me about how I didn’t have a tan. I just laughed.
That was the Mr. Jacobsen I knew.

So Sorry that your dad and mom are both gone I was your dad’s first girlfriend in Brooklyn, NY. Went to his HS graduation. We went to church together, and had great boy-friend, girl-friend times together. Unfortunately, my parents moved me to Ohio, so life went on. For some reason, I have had PJ on my mind this year. Now I know why.
Please accept my sympathy. Obviously he was as caring in his old age as he was as a young man
