Woodstock – Patricia (Pat) A. Ashton, 88, formerly of Willimantic, died Monday, May 31, 2021, in Westview Health Care & Rehabilitation Center. She was the loving wife of the late Eugene Ashton. Born in Davenport, IA, she was the daughter of the late David and Lorretta (Kiene) Barlow.
Pat was a homemaker and a cashier for many years. She enjoyed cooking, building puzzles, and walking. In her later years, Pat spent time volunteering at Douglas Manor Convalescent Home and as a class “grandmother” in a local elementary school. She treasured the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. As one of eight children, Pat spent much of her time with her siblings, especially her sisters who spent countless hours playing cards and socializing.
Patricia is survived by her daughters; Julie MacDonald and her husband Neil of West Willington, CT, Joanne Ashton-Lefebvre and her husband Paul of Woodstock, CT, and Lori Ashton and her partner Stephen Dreikosen of Framingham, MA; her siblings, Arthur Barlow and his wife Marianne of Seal Beach, CA, Robert Barlow and his wife Belle of Myrtle Beach, NC, and Marylou Haddad and her husband William of Windham; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Wayne Barlow, David Barlow, Jean O’Connor, and Marilyn Williams.
Relative and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, June 11, 2021, at 10:00a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic. Burial will follow in New Willimantic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Gilman Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Church St., Putnam.
