
WOODSTOCK- Parker “P.K.” Knight, 65, of English Neighborhood Road, died Friday, June 16 in Putnam. He was the husband of Ellen M. (Richardson) Knight for 43 years. Born in New Bedford, MA, he was the son of the late Leon and Bernice (Parker) Knight. He lived most of his life in Woodstock.
Mr. Knight was a FAA licensed aircraft mechanic and worked as a service representative for several industrial air compressor companies. A life long fire fighter, P.K. served as former captain of the Muddy Brook Volunteer Fire Department in Woodstock and the Quinebaug Volunteer Fire Department. He was also an avid train enthusiast.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Amy C. Benkowski of Hampton, CT and Tracy E. Blanchard of Pascoag, RI, and four grandchildren, Christaphor Montigny, Alicia Montigny, Beth Blanchard and Brian Blanchard.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., North Grosvenordale, CT. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Muddy Brook Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 222, East Woodstock, CT 06244 or the Quinebaug Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 144, Quinebaug, CT 06262.
