East Putnam – Norman R. Lajoie, 76, died Monday, May 18, 2015 in Matulaitis Nursing Home. He was the loving husband of 49 years to Joyce (Demers) Lajoie. Born in Webster, MA, he was the son of the late Exeas and Alice (Bellerose) Lajoie.
Mr. Lajoie served in the United States Army. He worked for Day Kimball Hospital in the purchasing and receiving department, Risom Furniture, and most recently part time for the Putnam Library. He enjoyed being outside watching the birds and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.
In addition to his wife, Norman is survived by his daughters, Monique M. Lajoie of Putnam and her boyfriend Todd Blackmer of Quinebaug, and Michelle A. Russo and her husband Anthony of Putnam; his brothers, Roland Lajoie and his wife Lillian of FL, Eugene Lajoie and his wife Liz of FL, and Paul Lajoie of Quinebaug; his sisters, Margaret Piekarczyk of Dudley, Louise Robbins of Thompson, and Claire Bosse of CA; and his granddaughters, Haley Russo and Hanna Russo. He was predeceased by his brothers, the late Phillip Lajoie and Gerard Lajoie; his sisters, the late Theresa Beauregard, Rachel Gibson, and Lorraine Breault.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2015 in St. Joseph Church, 18 Main St., N. Grosvenordale, CT. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. For memorial guestbook visit www.GilmanAndValade.com.
