Condolence from Elaine F Davies on October 26th, 2020 12:59 pm

Paul, my deepest condolences go out to you and your family. Unlike many who knew Nancy for a long time, I met her for the first time two years ago at the Library Book Club. She did so light up a room. She always had a thoughtful comment on the readings, but I was even more impressed that she would admit she hadn’t quite finished the book (many of us were thinking the same thing but didn’t have the courage to say it). And she made us laugh. But the Nancy I will remember was the fierce supporter of the new library. She wanted it to be the best it could be—a true center for the community. Her tireless efforts to bring that to fruition played out in her participation in many of the Friends of the Library activities—including the Program Committee, her service on the Board of Trustees, and her volunteer work at the library. And she did it with great joy. That legacy will live on and inspire us all.
