Putnam – Mary M. Dinsdale, 92, of Underwood Road, died Thursday evening, January 31st, 2013 at Westview Healthcare in Dayville. She was the loving wife of the late Frederick Dinsdale, Jr. Born in Plainfield, CT, she was the daughter of the late William and Sarah (Foley) Fisher.Mrs. Dinsdale graduated from Saint Vincent School of Nursing. During World War II she served as a registered nurse at Jacksonville Memorial in Jacksonville, FL, then as an emergency room and surgical nurse for the DayKimballHospital, and a registered school nurse for the PutnamSchool District. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She also enjoyed growing flowers and raising vegetables in her garden. She was a member of the Putnam Travelers. Mary is survived by her son, John K. Dinsdale and his life partner Caroline Rondeau of Pomfret Center; her daughter in-law, Norma Dinsdale of Dayville; Sister in laws Beatrice “Bea” Fisher of Willimantic and Eva Dinsdale of Putnam; 4 grandchildren, Anna Pingitore of Putnam, Anthony Pingitore of Putnam, David Dinsdale and his wife Kelly of Enfield, and Kevin Dinsdale of Ellington; and 3 great grandchildren, Noah, Parker, and Emma. She was predeceased by her son, William F. Dinsdale; and her brothers, the Dr. Francis Fisher, Dr. William T. Fisher, Louis F. Fisher, and Charles E. Fisher. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mary’s family from 6pm to 8pm, Thursday, February 7, 2013, in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam. A gathering will begin at 9 am on Friday at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St., Putnam. Burial will follow in St.MaryCemetery. Memorial donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the Recreational Department at Westview Rehabilitation and CareCenter, 150 Ware Rd., Dayville, CT 06241. I am so sorry for your loss, Mrs Dinsdale was an amazing person that I was so glad to have shared a part of my life with. She was my nurse at school and she also enjoyed giving great advice she will be missed terribly.

she was an awesome, wonderful and loving person. the house was always a home. i will remember her yard in full bloom and the smiles it brought to her in showing her flowers. i’m better for knowing both she and Fred. i am truly sorry for your loss.
