Putnam, CT- Mary Leona Racine, 96, of Sabin Street died Monday, March 26, 2007 in Titusville, FL. She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick Racine.
Born in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Adelard and Blanche (Beausoleil) Benac. Mrs. Racine lived in Putnam all of her life, until a recent move to Florida.
She worked as a seamstress for Wellington Curtain until her retirement and was a lifelong member of St. Mary Church of the Visitation.
Mrs. Racine is survived by her son, Robert Racine and his wife Margaret of Mims FL; her daughters, Elizabeth Mayo and her husband Donald of Putnam, and Carole Stanfield of Titusville FL; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 1 great- great-grandchild.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday March 30, 2007 at 6:00 pm in Holy Spirit Church, 2309 Holder Road, Mims, FL. A Mass of Christian burial will take place in May in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St., Putnam CT, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Dayville CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the “Catholic Foundation” for the St. Mary’s Church Endowment Fund, 218 Providence St., Putnam CT 06260 or Hospice of St. Francis, 1250 Grumman Place, Titusville, FL 32780.
