Lamoureux, Mary Ann-Web photoNorth Grosvenordale – Mary Ann (Comtois) Lamoureux, 74, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006, after a long illness.  She was the beloved wife of James “Jake” J. Lamoureux for 56 years.  She was born in Putnam and lived most of her life in North Grosvenordale, the daughter of the late Adelard Comtois and Alexcina (Ferland) Comtois.

Mary was employed as a cook by the University of Connecticut for ten years and by the Linemaster Switch Corporation for seven years. She was an active member of the women’s auxiliary of the VFW Post 1088 and of the Ave Maria Intercessory Prayer Group.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing and spending time with her family.

She also leaves two loving children and their spouses, Thomas G. Lamoureux and his wife Terry of Westminster, MA, Maureen A. Boutin and her husband Louis of N. Grosvenordale, three sisters, Simone Lamoureux and Dolores Comtois of Baltic, CT, Sr. Yvette Comtois of the Holy Cross of Hudson, NH, three grandchildren, Shannon Julian, Jake Boutin and Anamaria Boutin and six great-grandchildren, Noelle, Louis, Diamond, Conner, Danny & Jace. She was the sister to the late Andrew Comtois, Viateur Comtois, Lucille Fermiak, Jeanne Comtois, Theresa Bouchard and Sr. Thomas Evelyn Comtois. Her funeral will be held at 9 am Friday in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Sacred Heart Church, 47 W. Thompson Road, Thompson, followed by burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, N. Grosvenordale.  Visiting Hours are Thursday from 6-8 pm.
