1924 – 2008

Webster – Mr. Marvin W. Simpson, 84, of Webster, formerly of Top View Drive in Quinebaug, CT died Sunday, December 21, 2008 in Worcester.  Born in Sturbridge, MA, he was the son of the late Eugene and Frances (Clarke) Simpson.  Marvin moved from Sturbridge to Southbridge in 1950 and then to the Quinebaug, CT in 1962, where he resided until moving to Webster, MA in 2002.  He was the husband of the late Lillian (Kazlusky) Simpson for 46 years, whom he married in Saint Joseph Rectory, N. Grosvenordale, CT on January 7, 1950.

Mr. Simpson was employed by American Optical as a Pricing Manager until his retirement.  He was a WW II Navy veteran. He was a Mason in Sturbridge, and had many hobbies, among them, golfing, bowling, playing cards, visiting casinos, and traveling.

Mr. Simpson leaves his son, Gregory Simpson and his wife Li-Chen Peng of Middletown, CT; six brothers, Roger of Dudley, Arnold of Southbridge, Gordon and Raymond of Sturbridge, Calvin of Detroit, MI, and Charles of Birmingham, MI; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit Marvin’s family from 9:00 to 11:00 am Friday December 26, 2008 in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N.Grosvenordale, CT with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am in Saint Stephen Church, 130 Old Turnpike Rd., Quinebaug, CT.  Burial with military honors will be Saturday, December 27, 2008 in Saint Casimir Cemetery, Muhlenberg, PA.  Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to Protectors of Animals, P.O. Box   24, South Glastonbury, CT06073.
