Marjorie L. Bradfield

“Proud Great Grandma”

1918-2010

Putnam – Marjorie L. “Gigi” Bradfield, 91, passed away quickly, quietly and peacefully at Day Kimball Hospital on February 19, 2010.  She was the loving wife of the late Clarence A. (Peany) Bradfield.  Marjorie and Peany had been married for 50 years.  Born in Altoona, PA, she was the daughter of the late H. Gilbert and Ada M. (Hershey) Jackson.

Marjorie had been a homemaker most of her life.  She enjoyed watching sports on television or at Murphy Park.  She was an avid fan of her great-grandson, Jacob.  Her favorite sport to watch was tennis, followed by bowling.  She was an avid Andre Agassi fan.  Thanks to her granddaughter, she met Andre in person once.  Photos of Andre were prized possessions and were often shown before the photos of her great grandchildren.  She also enjoyed playing games with the family and the weekly Bingo games with her neighbors.

Marjorie was a member of the Congregational Church of Eastford where she attended for several years accompanied by her daughter.

Marjorie leaves behind her daughter, Jean Ann Moore of Putnam; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  Kathy, Alan, and Jacob Guertin of Putnam.  Robert, Kim, Madison, Robbie, and Maya Moore of Kenosha, WI.

The service for Marjorie will be private.  Friends and family may join Marjorie’s family in a celebration of her ninety-one years from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on February 28, 2010 in the Heritage Pines Clubhouse at 81 Perry Street, Putnam.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Day Kimball Hospital’s Geriatric Care Management Program, Day Kimball Homemakers, or Day Kimball Homecare.  These are all wonderful organizations.  Arrangements thoughtfully planned by Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam.
