Marilyn J. (Jasmin) Donlon
1927 – 2009
DAYVILLE – Mrs. Marilyn J. Donlon, 82, of North Shore Road formerly of Manchester, CT, died Monday August 17, 2009. Born in Killingly, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Anne (Caffrey) Jasmin. Mrs. Donlon was the wife of the late Patrick F. Donlon, whom she married on September 29, 1951 in St. Joseph Church in Dayville.

A 1945 graduate of Killingly High School, Marilyn later graduated from the Saint Francis Hospital School of Nursing in 1948. She was employed as a Registered Nurse for many years, specializing in geriatrics at Burnside Convalescent Home in East Hartford and later retired from Manchester Manor.

A communicant of Saint Anne Church in Ballouville, Mrs. Donlon’s life was centered around her family and time spent on Alexander’s Lake where she made her home for so many years. She adored her grandchildren and was an avid reader.

She leaves two daughters and sons-in-law; Nancy and Joseph Brennan of Manchester and Terri Donlon and Robert Loomis of Osterville, MA, a son; Michael Donlon of Dayville and four grandchildren; Evan and Riley Donlon and Julia and Caroline Brennan. She was predeceased by a brother; John J. Jasmin and two sisters; Mildred Eckler and Barbara Flagg.

Marilyn’s family is forever grateful for the extraordinary care that she received from Dr. Gerald Sullivan of St. Luke’s Family Practice, the special care she received at home from Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Connecticut, and the compassionate and dedicated staff at Westview Health Care Center.

A private Cemetery Burial and Memorial Mass will be held for Marilyn. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Connecticut or The Hospice Family Suite at Day Kimball Hospital, both mailed to P.O. Box 632, Putnam, CT, 06260. Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church Street, Putnam, is entrusted with her arrangements.
