Woodstock – Marie (Mathurin) Lillibridge has died at the age of 68 on August 22, 2011 at her home in Woodstock after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was predeceased by her husband of 22 years, Robert Lillibridge. Born in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Laurette (Phaneuf) Mathurin.
She worked for Smith Mechanical of Webster as a bookkeeper and was a long time employee of Rawley Plumbing in Putnam. Marie loved to travel all over the world with her husband Robert before his untimely death. She continued to travel with the Royal Travelers afterward and made many new friends. She loved to knit, play Bingo, and laugh with her many friends. Most of all she loved her cat “Coozie Marie.”
She leaves behind her sister and brother-in-law Juliette and Albert Bradley, brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Linda Lillibridge, Richard Lillibridge, Dennis Lillibridge; her nieces and nephews, Laurie and Jim Pinkston, Kevin and Laurie Bradley, Cathy Major and Anderson Hall, Lori Carter, Jason Lillibridge, William Lillibridge, Jr., Tammy Till, John Lillibridge Jr., and Nicole Lillibridge; and her great nieces and nephews, Jason, Josh, Chelsea, Kyle, Adam and Kyle. Marie was predeceased by her brother in-law, John Lillibridge.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Marie’s family at 9:00 am on Saturday, August 27, 2011 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St, Putnam, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am in the Most Holy Trinity Church, 586 Pomfret Rd, Pomfret, CT. Burial will follow in Quasset Cemetery in Woodstock.
