
Marguerite R. Cotnoir
1922 – 2011
Putnam – Marguerite R Cotnoir, 89 of Van Den Noort Street died Friday, December 30, 2011 in Putnam. Born in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Clara (Laflamme) Cotnoir. She was a lifelong Putnam resident.
Miss Cotnoir worked as a planner and expediter for the former Belding Heminway Corticelli in Putnam for forty years retiring in 1988. She had also worked as a hostess for the former Vernon Stiles Inn in Thompson. She was a graduate of Putnam Catholic Academy. She was a communicant of St. Mary Church of the Visitation where she served as a Parish Trustee and volunteered for the Visitation Ministry. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Ann and the League of Catholic Women. She had also volunteered in the Day Kimball Hospital Gift Shop and for the Red Cross Blood Bank.
She is survived by her brother Gerard Cotnoir of Putnam; her Sister, Bella Cotnoir of Putnam; her sister-in-law, Pauline Cotnoir of Wilmington, DE; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Leo Cotnoir and her sister-in-law Leona Cotnoir.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Marguerite’s family on Monday, January 2, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam, CT. A gathering will begin at 9:00 am Tuesday, January 3, 2012 in the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St. Putnam.
