Kissimmee, FL – Margaret (Gallant) Yuen, 78, formerly of Thompson, CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, April 24, 2021 in Kissimmee Florida.
She was the loving wife of the late George H. Fitzgerald and the late Floyd G. Yuen. Born in Brockton, MA, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Doris M. (Horne) Gallant.
Margaret was a partner in the Four Winds Corp. which operated the Stables Restaurant, Wind-Tiki and the Windsir Restaurant until the early 1990’s. She was fortunate enough to retire early and spend time traveling with family and friends between Massachusetts and Florida where she eventually settled.
She was a member of Multiple Ladies Golf Leagues in Florida, both for personal enjoyment and for charitable causes. She was the pillar of support and inspiration to all of her family. She enjoyed the company and companionship of her dog Mimi who she called the baby of the family. Marge was a sweet and caring person who instantly earned admiration from all who met her. She mostly enjoyed reading, sewing, great food, laughter, and golf.
Margaret is survived by her three sons, George Fitzgerald of Webster, MA, John J. Fitzgerald of Newport, NH, Michael Fitzgerald and his wife Kathleen of Franklin, MA; her seven daughters, Pamela Vandale and her husband Ernest of Thompson, Sheryl Fitzgerald and the late Kenneth Foskett of Woodstock, CT, Mary Davern and her husband Joseph “Chuck” of Little River, SC, Lisa Charmchi and her husband Behrooz of Webster, MA, Catherine Merritt of South Grafton, MA, Christine Fuller and her husband Michael of Orlando, FL, Debra Fitzgerald of Orlando, FL; her sister Rosemary Rossi of Buzzards Bay, MA; her 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her twin sister, Myrtle Morris.
Calling hours will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 4th, 2021 at the Valade Funeral Home located at 23 Main St. North Grosvenordale, CT. A prayer service will begin in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. followed by burial at 11:30 a.m. at St Joseph’s Cemetery where she will be laid by her mother’s side.
