Margaret M (Boux) Dowe

1932 – 2018

Henderson, NV – Margaret M. ( Boux ) Dowe, age 85, died peacefully in the early morning of February 23, 2018 at Adelson Hospice Facility in Las Vegas, Nevada after family members present and afar were able to say their goodbyes to her. Margaret was born in Washington, DC, and grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. She was the youngest of Louis and Virginia Boux’s seven children.

Margaret earned a Master’s degree in social work from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba, Canada. Aside from being a loving mother of four children, she was employed as a social work consultant for five convalescent homes in the communities of Brooklyn, Plainfield, and Norwich, CT.

Margaret was an active member of St. Mary Home and School Association, the Daughters of Isabella Association, and served on the Bereavement Committee of Hospice of Northeastern CT for six years. Margaret was a devout Catholic with a big heart who loved helping others throughout her life. She was also a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Margaret leaves behind her daughter, Elizabeth Sankow and husband Fred of Lyme, CT, her sons, Gregory Dowe of Fort Worth, TX and Michael Dowe of Henderson, NV, her grandson, Chad Sankow and wife Charisse of Clinton, CT, and granddaughters, Stacey and Sarah Sankow of Lyme, CT. She is predeceased by her husband, Harold Dowe and her daughter, Catherine Dowe.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday March 7, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St. Putnam, CT. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St. Rocky Hill, CT, 06067, Nathan Adelson Hospice Facility, 4141 Swenson St. Las Vegas, NV 89119, or St. Mary Church of the Visitation 218 Providence St. Putnam, CT. 06260.     We are saddened to hear of auntie Margerete ‘s passing
    I remember her with her beautiful smile and chocolate brown eyes,such a sweet person.
    She loved her family so much.
    My father ,her brother Ross, always loved seeing her
    When she would come for a visit to Winnipeg. many years ago .
    We all loved seeing her ..

    As a friend of Margaret, I was very sadden to hear the news of her passing. I know she had a deep faith and is now enjoying her time together with her husband. She will be missed.
