1915 – 2007

Las Vegas, NV -Mae (Pizzotti) Stiles, 92, formerly of Wilsonville, CT passed away Monday December 10, 2007.  She was the wife of the late Harley Ray Stiles who passed away on December 25, l982.  Born in Webster, Massachusetts in 1915, and raised in the Wilsonville section of Thompson, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Lillian (Gilmore) Pizzotti.

Mae was a graduate of Tourtellotte High School in North Grosvenordale.  She was employed by American  Optical in Southbridge as a lens inspector and later worked along side her father at the Bates Shoe Factory in Webster.  Mae enlisted in the U.S. Navy in l942 and served in the military for three years.  She graduated from Hunter College, was later transferred to a Naval Facility in NC and once again transferred to the Medical Department at the U.S. Marine Corps Air Station in Quantico, Virginia.  She then made her home in Peoria, Illinois where she held the position of manager in a restaurant.  She later retired due to illness.

She is survived by one daughter; Linda Fox and her husband Bill with whom she made her home for the past seven years; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.  She also leaves a sister, Gladys Pizzotti of Quinebaug, CT; a sister-in-law, Claire Pizzotti of Wilsonville, CT; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  She was the sister of the late Rose Pezzolesi, Irene Pizzotti, Dorothy Groh, James, Earl and Arthur Pizzotti.

Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on January 12, 2008 at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, 20 Main Street, N. Grosvenordale, CT.  A private burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Dudley, MA at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Quinebaug Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box l44, Quinebaug, CT 06262, or a charity of the donors choice.
