North Grosvenordale, Ct – Lucien L. Bourque, 84, of Valley Road, formerly of Riverside Drive, died Sunday, November 23, 2008 at home. He was the loving husband of the late Rose (Kruzel) Bourque for 58 years. Born in Thompson, Ct, he was the son of the late Omer & Fabiola (Boucher) Bourque.
Mr. Bourque worked as a machinist for Power Equipment Products and for the Maintenance Department at Borden Confectionary. A WWII Army Veteran, he was awarded the Purple Heart for his service to his country. Mr. Bourque was a member of the American Legion Oscar Swanson Post for 61 years and a life member of the Valley Springs Sportsmen’s Club. He loved to fly fish and was very clever at building and creating things in his workshop.
He is survived by a sister, Rose Bourque of Florida; a brother, Alfred Bourque and his wife Evelyn of Putnam, three sisters in laws, Josephine Duquette and her husband Arthur, Jeanne Kruzel and Barbara Bourque all of North Grosvenordale; a nephew, Ronald Duquette and his wife Susan of North Grosvenordale; a great nephew, Kevin and his wife, Misty of North Grosvenordale and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Eugene Bourque.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Lucien’s family from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, Monday, November 24, 2008 in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale CT. A gathering will begin at 9:00 am on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Church, 20 Main St., N. Grosvenordale. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
