
Thompson, Ct. –Lois C. Lafortune, 66 of O’Leary Road died peacefully Monday November 13, 2006. She was the wife of the late Alphonse Lafortune for 30 years. Born in Ware, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Ida (Wetherell) Allen.
Mrs. Lafortune worked as a spinner for Hale Manufacturing in Putnam before retiring. She also worked in the kitchen of the Provincial House of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit in Putnam. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. She was a member of the Senior Center in Thompson and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Leonidas Lafortune, Rita Brown, Elaine Deslauriers, Theresa Bordua, Annette Mauke and Paul Lafortune all of Thompson; and Roland Lafortune of Pascoag, RI; 11 grandchildren and 2 adopted grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Ralph Allen and the late Richard Allen.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Lois’ family on Thursday, November 16, 2006, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main Street, North Grosvenordale, CT. A gathering will begin at 8:30am Friday at the funeral home with a Funeral Mass at 9:30 am in St. Joseph Church, 20 Main Street, North Grosvenordale. Burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery.
