Woodstock Valley – Lillian (LaFleur) Smith, Age 80, of Route 171, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at the home of her friend, Darlene, in Quinebaug. She was the loving wife of the late Elwin Smith. Born in Manville, RI, she was the daughter of the late Adolph and Mary (Harnois) Smith.
Mrs. Smith enjoyed making a home for her family. She was a parishioner of St. Stephen’s Church in Quinebaug and a teacher for the Woodstock Prayer Group.
Lillian is survived by her sons, Elwyn “Bud” Smith of Groton, Morris Smith of Woodstock, and Bruce Smith of Danielson; her daughter, Caron Smith of Putnam; her sisters, Alice Bruce of Putnam, and Dorothy Davieau of Webster MA; four grandchildren, Michelle Lucier, Bruce Warren Smith, Eduen Lloyd F. Smith and Tyler Smith; two great grandsons; and her dear friend, Darlene Lavigne of Quinebaug.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Lillian’s family from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, Friday, March 7, 2008 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam. A gathering will begin at 9am on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in St. Stephen Church, 130 Old Turnpike Rd., Quinebaug CT 06262. Burial will be in Barlow Cemetery, Woodstock CT.
