Canterbury – Leo A. Larose, Jr., 72, of Gooseneck Hill Rd., passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022. He was the former husband and best friend of Patricia (Bombard) Larose. Born in Putnam, he was the son of the late Leo and Albertine (Gomes) Larose, Sr.
Mr. Larose was a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He went on to work as a machinist for over forty years for Kaman Aerospace. He enjoyed doing yardwork, was a race car fan and collected diecast race cars.
Leo is survived by his sons, Gregory A. Larose of Canterbury, and Matthew A. Larose and his wife Barbara of Marenci, AZ; his brothers, Robert J. Larose of Eastford, CT, and Ernest Larose of Thompson; his grandchildren, Carrera A. Larose, and Bailey A. Larose; and two great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Leo’s family from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2022, in the Valade Funeral Home and Crematory, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale. A gathering will begin in the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 23, 2022, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 18 Main St, N. Grosvenordale. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Leo’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memorial Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
