Laura E. (Oleszewski) Cartier

North Grosvenordale – Laura E. Cartier, 82, of Riverside Drive, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009, in Regency Heights of Danielson. She was the wife of the late Bernard Cartier, Sr. who died in September of 1990. Born in North Grosvenordale, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Kania) Oleszewski.
Mrs. Cartier worked as a textile worker for Matson Mills. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and playing cards. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Laura is survived by her son, Bernard Cartier, Jr. of Danielson; her daughters, Naomi Peterson and her husband Philip of Putnam, Kathy Neal of Florida, and Jackie Mainville and her husband Mike of Thompson; her sister Rose Laskowski of Putnam; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her daughters, the late Susan Cartier and the late Linda Bates; and her grandson, the late Joshua Peterson.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Funeral service with Laura’s family at 11:00 am Saturday, November 14, 2009 in the Congregational Church of Putnam, Main Street, Putnam, CT. Burial in the West Thompson Cemetery at a later date. The Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam has been entrusted with arrangements.
