Kyle A. Malo

Published: October 22, 2014 34 Condolences

Malo Kyle A web head shot

Malo, Kyle A - web bikePutnam – Kyle A. Malo, 55, of Heritage Rd., passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2014. Born in New York City, NY, she was the loving wife of Richard A. “Dick” Malo, whom she married in St. Mary Church of the Visitation .

Kyle was a 33 year Veteran of Corrections at the A.C.I. in Cranston, RI. She was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, Fraternal Order of Correctional Officers and Harley Owners Group.  Kyle rode motorcycles for 40 years. She showed, trained and bred quarter horses and enjoyed attending the Pendleton Oregon Round-up. She collected Indian artifacts from the Ogla Sioux tribe and was an avid flower and vegetable gardener.

Kyle loved her job, her Harley, her horse “Ciso”, her gardens, her home and beautiful farm, but most of all she loved her husband. Kyle was full of life.  She could be seen riding her Harley or her sports car around town.  But what people saw and sometimes could not believe, was her on her horse riding downtown for a beer or through the drive thru at Dunkin Donuts on Route 44 for a coffee. She now rides that Harley and horse in town no more, but up in the puffy white clouds above, if you look up to the heavens you will see her on her Harley or her horse, smiling down on all of us.

In addition to her husband, Kyle is survived by; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Don (Karen) Malo of Webster, MA and Rene (Ginny) Malo of Douglas, MA; her nieces, Michelle, Chrissy, April, Laura, and Rachel; her nephews, Jason, Luke, Eric, and Dave; her brother Kurt Adams of Walla Walla, WA; and her god child, Megan Lasher of R.I. She is predeceased by her step father, the late Norman Adams and step mother, the late Elise Koen.

Relatives, friends, and neighbors are invited to attend a Memorial Service for Kyle at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Thompson Rod and Gun Club, 93 Brandy Hill Rd., Thompson, CT 06277. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Gilman Funeral Home. For memorial guestbook visit www.GilmanAndValade.com.

My heart bleeds for you. I am so sorry for the loss of Kyle. I truly believe she is riding free in Heaven, I am sure Digger is riding right along with her. You were both partners in life, and enjoyed everything you did together, I cannot think of two people that belonged together more than you and Kyle. May she forever Rest In Peace and ride her bike on the majestic highways of heaven , and ride her horses in the never ending bright green pastures above. I will always keep you both in my prayers.

    Oh Dick,
My heart is so very sad… just now learning what happened. Love you both and will never forget the wonderful times spent together years ago at the bike meets, where you all had my back and kept an eye out for me. Even though I haven’t seen you for years, she always sent me the Christmas cards with pics of the life you’ve built together. She always shined with her zest for life. So incredibly sorry for your loss. Take care, my friend and know how much she was loved by us all.

Kyle, I will miss you forever. You were the best line dancing buddy ever. We could always talk at length about dancing, horses, and old houses. The line dance weekends were great fun. I always had to work hard to keep up with you because you were so much better than I at memorizing the dance steps. The friendly competition with you is what kept me dancing all those years. I will never forget the great chick trip out west with you to visit your parents and to go to the Pendleton Round up. We bought lots of Navajo jewelry and hit all the tack shops between Walla Walla and Pendleton. Thank you so much for those memories.

Dick, My deepest condolences. I am so sorry I was not in Ct. for the memorial. I would have been there for sure.

My sincerest condolences to Kurt and all the rest of the Malos. I know you are all devastated by her sudden passing.

Very sorry for your loss Dick. Words simply cannot explain the loss of your best friend and wife. She certainly was full of life and I’m sure you both had a great life together. May God help you to accept his will and continue to remember all the good times you were both blessed with. Hopefully our paths will cross some day and we can catch up on time passed. Take care Dick.

So sorry to read this incredibly sad news. I was a friend of Kyle’s from Awosting/Chinqueka when we were 15. Such fond memories of her kindness, and caring for everyone! She was the best shot in both Camps, and would win ice cream contests on the rifle range! Still have a gift she had made for me that summer! Will cherish it always. With deepest sympathy, and great sadness for your loss. Peace & love, Rick
