Putnam – Katherine “Ellen” Tessier, 91, of 102 Walnut St., Putnam, CT. died peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2019 at the Villa Maria Convalescent Home, Plainfield, CT. She was the loving wife of the late Albert C. Tessier. Born in Putnam on September 22, 1927, she was the daughter of the late George and Kathryn (MacNeal) Mackenzie. She grew up in Rogers & Pomfret and has resided in Putnam for the last 65+ years. Family & friends referred to her as Ellen.
Ellen was employed by William Prims and assisted in the manufacturing of safety pins.
She was a member of Daughters of Holy Spirit, Putnam Travelers, and volunteered at daily bread.
She enjoyed traveling, gardening, ceramics, shopping, knitting, animals, and spending time with her family. She also loved to spend the summers with her cousin, Marian Morrison, at Rye beach and Portsmouth, NH.
Ellen is survived by her son, Randolph Tessier and his wife Phyllis C. Tessier of Putnam, CT; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Tessier) Cook & her husband Henry B. Cook III, and John A. Tessier and a handsome great grandson Dakota R. Cook and a beautiful great granddaughter Montana S. Cook of Putnam, CT.
She was predeceased by Albert C. Tessier; her two brothers George Mackenzie & Dunkin “Bud” Mackenzie, and her cousin Marian Morrison.
