Juliette Eddy

1922 – 2010

Thompson –Juliette (Gill) Eddy, 87, of Sand Dam Rd, passed away quietly Monday, January 4, 2010 in her home.  She was the loving wife of the late Walter Hayes Eddy, Jr.  Born in Woonsocket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Elisa (Jolicoeur) Gill.

Mrs. Eddy worked as an assistant librarian for the Thompson Library for 35 years.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.  She loved to pick blueberries.  Mrs. Eddy was a member of the Christian Woman’s Group, a long-standing member of the Quinnetiset Grange, the Thimble Club, and the head of the East Thompson voting district.  She was also a longstanding member of the Thompson Republican Committee and the Thompson Historical Society.

Juliette is survived by her son, David W. Eddy and his wife Ceia of Thompson; her daughter, Martha E. Eddy-Hoffman and her husband Arthur of Louisville, KY; her grandchildren, Christopher, Steven and Susan; and three great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her son, the late George Eddy.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Juliette’s family from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Thursday, January 7, 2010 in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale CT, with a Funeral Service in the funeral home at 7:00 pm.  Burial will take place in East Thompson Cemetery in the spring.  Memorial donations may be made to the East Thompson Cemetery Association, c/o Mercedes Robbins, 120 Thompson Road, Thompson, CT 06277.
