1921 – 2012

North Grosvenordale – Josephine (Kruzel) Duquette, 91, of Klondike St. died Thursday, October 4, 2012 in Day Kimball Hospital. She was the loving wife of Arthur Duquette for 65 years. Born in Webster, MA, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Anne (Czechowski) Kruzel

Mrs. Duquette worked as a stitcher for Bates Shoe.

She loved to cook, tend to her flower garden, sewing, dance the polka, and playing cards with her friends. Josie and Arthur would spend time at the Valley Springs Sportsman’s Club with her friends and family where Arthur was a charter member. She was also a communicant of St. Joseph Church in North Grosvenordale.

In addition to her husband, Josie is survived by her sons, Ronald Duquette and his wife Susan, David Duquette and his friend Barbara Hart, Paul Duquette and his wife Brenda; her grandchildren, Kevin and his wife Misty, Ryan, Alan, Danielle, Nicole, and Stephanie; her great grandchildren, Emmalena, and Bently; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, the late Anthony, Stanley, and Raymond Kruzel; and her sisters, the late Theresa Morneau, and Rose Bourque.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Josie’s family from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, October 8, 2012 in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale CT. A gathering will begin at 9:00 am on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Church, 18 Main St., N. Grosvenordale. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Josie’s name to St. Joseph Church, or St. Joseph Food Pantry, P.O. Box 897, N. Grosvenordale, CT 06255. For memorial guestbook visit www.GilmanAndValade.com.
