Putnam – Joseph T. Mancini, Sr., 83, of Tourtellotte Rd., died Friday, March 22, 2013 in UMass University Hospital. He was the loving husband of Patricia (Osborne) Mancini. Born in Wallingford, CT ,on February 14, 1930 he was the son of the late Primo and Marianne (Ferrolia) Mancini.
On March 19, 1947, in St. Rose Church in Meridan, CT, he was united in marriage to Patricia (Osborne) Mancini
Mr. Mancini was the owner of Windy Hill Farm in Killingly prior to becoming a cattle dealer.
In addition to his wife of 66 years, Joseph is survived by his sons, Joseph T. Mancini, Jr. and his wife Marilyn of Pomfret, David P. Mancini and his wife Joan of Charlestown, NY, Peter T. Mancini and his wife Christina of Brattleboro, VT, Paul H. Mancini of East Killingly, and Mark A. Mancini and his wife Patty of Waterford, a daughter Christine Opperman of Dayville, 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Joseph is predeceased by a brother Alfred Mancini, and six sisters Mary Catrona, Bella Burbidge, Clara Cahill, Ida Orazco, Freda Garret, and Stella Wells.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Joseph’s family from 10:00 am to 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam, followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Elmvale Cemetery, Woodstock, CT. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Mr. Mancini’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
