North Grosvenordale – Joseph John Strzelewicz, 86 of LaPorte Road, died unexpectedly Friday December 7, 2007. He was the loving husband of Marie Leona (Martin) Strzelewicz for 63 years. Born in North Grosvenordale, he was the son of the late William and Katherine (Plaszewski) Strzelewicz.
Mr. Strzelewicz worked as a Maintenance mechanic for New England Envelope. He was a WW II army veteran. He was an aviation enthusiast and was in the process of building his own ultra light aircraft. He also enjoyed traveling.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Janice Garosshen and her husband John of Canterbury, Ct, a sister Dorothy Putnam of Webster, Ma, a grand daughter, Cheryl Gregoire and her husband Roger of Uncasville; two great grand children and one great great grand son.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Joseph’s family on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 from 5:00-8:00 pm, in the Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale CT. A gathering will begin at 9:00 am on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 in the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joseph’s Church. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Joseph’s Garden of Peace Cemetery, Webster, MA.
